What is the difference between Invisaign and braces?
Invisalign and braces are both tools for your dentist to move your teeth. In the past there was no Invisalign so braces was all that we had.
Nowadays people prefer Invisalign so we try as much to treat with Invisalign.
There are difficult cases, cases that sometimes have to be treated with braces but 90% of our cases I would say can be treated with Invisalign.
Most important thing of Invisalign is that it’s invisible. It’s very cosmetic and visually appealing so preferred by most adults as people can’t really notice it.
You can remove it if you have an important function or a meeting. Eat whatever you want, just take it out eat, rinse and wear them back. Unfortunately, with braces you don’t have that option. Once stuck you can’t take them off and they’re very visible.
When you’re wearing Invisalign, it’s easier to maintain oral hygiene, easier to brush, you don’t have that option with braces. So many people complain that they’re not able to clean their teeth properly, food gets stuck and gums bleed.
The only hard thing about Invisalign is that it’s in your control. You need to be committed to be wearing it 22 hours a day. It’s the first one week that’s a challenge, after that it just gets incorporated in your life.
